This exhibition was part of a cultural exchange between Bulgarian and Canadian artists. The project was developed by three Montreal based artists; Biliana Velkova, Barbara Prokop and Naomi Potter who formed an independent curatorial collective called BLUNT. The first part of the exchange took place in 1999 and included nineteen videos from Canadian artists that were exhibited in Bulgaria. The second part of the exchange was the exhibition Seduced and Intrigued: New Media from Bulgaria, and featured the work of five Bulgarian artists; Boriana Dragoeva, Krassimir Terziev, Kossio Minchev, and Ivan Nikolov. These artists represent the current diversity and strength in media-based projects that are coming out of Bulgaria.

The exhibition took place during the first HX: Halifax Exhibition of International Contemporary Art. Organized by the Contemporary Art Projects Society, a consortium of Halifax curators, gallery directors and art professionals (including Mathew Reichertz of the Khyber), HX was a multi-venue program of exhibitions and public events held throughout the summer of 2000. The Seduced and Intrigued exhibition represented part of the Khyber's contribution to the HX festival.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the Khyber organized events designed to expand the local community's engagement with the work and visiting curators. These included a public presentation by two of the members of BLUNT, who discussed aspects of Bulgarian video production, and a public screening. The first part of the exchange called Video Verite was documented in a video which was presented in a screening at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. A panel discussion about the relationship between local, national and international video art featuring local video artists brought the exhibition to a close.
