In this two piece exhibition, Halifax artist Drew Klassen will premier two installations at the Khyber. Klassen plays on the duality of "body-as-container" and "body-contained". The closet walls will recede into a cast of the artist's body while a nine foot high cotton cocoon hangs in the stairwell. Klassen, who has a background in architecture, is interested in the body's metaphorical relationship to architectural space. Though they are situated in and react to two distinct spaces, the open, airy stairwell and the small, enclosed closet, each work plays powerfully with our sense of comfort and evokes feelings of claustrophobia.

The Khyber Closet is an actual closet space above the Khyber Gallery which is quickly regaining its status as an important venue of art installations and experimentation in Halifax.
