Using colours that are designed commercially to trigger desire, Adele Chong presents grand paintings that romanticize the landscape of modern existence. Through a systematic approach to painting and using candy, comics and other pretty objects as source material, Chong both examines the predicament of the individual self-situated within the confines of a man-made society, and embraces it. |
Above: Gallery goers at the opening. Craig Ferguson, artist and Khyber bartender and bookings manager, surveyed the paintings competing with his shirt. |
